Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") describes how you may and may not use SumoFiber services. It applies to all customers and to anyone who uses our network through a customer's account. The AUP supplements our Terms of Service and is incorporated into them by reference. Violating this AUP can result in suspension or termination of service.

General Principles
Our network is a shared resource. Most of what we ask of you is common sense: do not break the law, do not interfere with other people's use of the network, and do not damage or compromise our infrastructure. The sections below explain what that means in practice.
Prohibited Activities
You may not use our services to engage in any of the following activities, and you may not allow anyone else to do so through your connection:
Illegal activity
- Violating any federal, state, or local law
- Transmitting, distributing, or storing material that is copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected by intellectual property law, without permission from the owner
- Transmitting or storing material that is obscene, child sexual abuse material, or otherwise illegal
- Engaging in fraud, identity theft, or impersonation
Harm to others
- Sending unsolicited bulk email, commercial email, or text messages (spam)
- Harassing, threatening, or intimidating any person or group
- Distributing defamatory material or material that violates the privacy or publicity rights of others
- Collecting information about other users without their consent
Harm to networks and systems
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or network
- Distributing or executing malware, viruses, ransomware, or any code intended to harm systems or data
- Conducting denial of service attacks or any other activity that disrupts service
- Falsifying email headers, packet headers, or any identifying network information
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of any system or network without authorization
- Using the service in a way that interferes with our ability to provide service to other customers
Resale and redistribution
Our residential and small business plans are sold for use at a single location by the customer and members of the customer's household or business. You may not resell, redistribute, share, or otherwise make our service available to people outside the service location, unless we have agreed in writing.
Network Management
We perform reasonable network management to keep service running well for all customers. This may include:
- Monitoring overall network performance and capacity
- Identifying and limiting the impact of harmful traffic, including spam, malware, and denial of service attacks
- Managing congestion during peak periods
- Addressing customers whose usage is significantly higher than typical
Our detailed network management practices are described in our Network Management Transparency Disclosure.
Extraordinary use
Our standard plans are designed for typical residential or small business use. We may consider usage extraordinary if it is significantly higher than the usage of most of our customers, if it appears to be commercial in nature on a residential plan, or if it includes activities like running servers for public traffic, sustained bulk file transfer, or commercial broadcasting.
If your usage falls into this category, we will reach out to discuss options, which may include moving to a different plan that fits your needs. We will not take action without contacting you first, unless your activity is causing immediate harm to the network.
IP Addresses
All Internet Protocol (IP) addresses assigned to your service are owned and managed by SumoFiber or by the underlying network operator. You do not own assigned IP addresses and cannot transfer them. We may change your assigned addresses at any time. Using IP addresses not assigned to you is a violation of this AUP.
Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
How to send a DMCA notice
If you believe content sent over our network infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent. The notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information sufficient for us to locate it
- Your contact information, including address, phone, and email
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Repeat infringer policy
It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of customers who are repeat infringers.
Cooperation with Law Enforcement
We cooperate with valid law enforcement requests, including subpoenas, court orders, and warrants. See our Law Enforcement Guidelines for the process. We may also report content or activity that appears to involve a credible threat to safety.
Security and Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for the security of your equipment, devices, and any computers connected to your service. We strongly recommend using a firewall, current antivirus and antimalware software, and strong passwords. We may scan for or block traffic that appears harmful to our network or to other customers, but we are not responsible for protecting your devices.
Offensive Content
The internet contains content some people find offensive. We do not control or monitor third party content, and we are not responsible for material reached through our service. We strongly encourage parental supervision and the use of content filtering tools for households with children.
Enforcement
If we believe you have violated this AUP, we may take any of the following actions, at our discretion, based on the severity and pattern of the conduct:
- Contact you and ask that the activity stop
- Limit, suspend, or terminate the service
- Restrict throughput, route traffic differently, or take other technical measures
- Cooperate with law enforcement or report the activity
We may act with or without notice depending on the urgency. Suspended service may be restored once the issue is resolved. Reconnection fees may apply. Our failure to enforce any provision of this AUP is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. The current version posted on our website is the version in effect. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated AUP.
